You don’t have an inbox…yet.
April 9, 2009
Update: It’s fine now, just temporary downtime.
Just now, my Hotmail inbox went out. Out, as in gone. It’s not there. My account exists, but my inbox has been totally obliterated. I first found out about this from my friend, and it turns out that not only his inbox, but two friends and one family member have also lost theirs. It’s either a very specific error targeting my family and friends, (some of whom are on opposite ends of the country) or it’s a really large hack/system malfunction. Is this happening to anyone? As far as I can tell, I’m the first one to post about this. I’m glad I switched to Gmail, but there was roughly 5 years worth of email on my Hotmail account.
A lot of people have been getting this error in the last hour. It’s not you, it’s not your computer. If they tell you to clear your history, ignore them. You’ll get the same error no matter what computer you try logging on with. It has to be a hotmail problem. Hopefully it’s temporary. The support forums aren’t answering any of the people currently panicking and adding their names to the “me, too!” list.
